According to the general contractor's cost estimate obtained by the journalists, the first two construction stages cost over UAH 48 million; together with finishing and furnishing, the journalists estimate the mansion at no less than UAH 70 million — this is the journalists' estimate, not an official amount. The official incomes of the father-in-law and mother-in-law, according to the journalists' sources in the tax service, amounted to UAH 16.5 and 7.5 million for 1998–2025. Komar stated that the mansion was not being built for him. On 2 August 2025 the Office of the Prosecutor General registered criminal proceedings under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code (illicit enrichment), and the investigation was assigned to the SBI; the NACP is conducting lifestyle monitoring. As of March 2026 no notice of suspicion had been served.
