Charges of attempted embezzlement of municipal real estate worth over UAH 15 million (Court of Appeal of Cherkasy Oblast)

According to NABU and SAPO, the former head of the Cherkasy Oblast Court of Appeal facilitated the alienation, in favour of a local private company, of a municipal real estate object worth more than UAH 15 million, which a local self-government body had transferred to the court for operational management without the right of alienation; the crime was not completed. On 28.06.2022 a notice of suspicion was served under Article 15(2), Article 191(5) of the Criminal Code (according to SUD.UA, because he was in hiding — by delivery to his place of residence); on 03.04.2023 the High Council of Justice consented to detention in custody; on 18.12.2024 the investigation was completed; on 28.04.2025 the indictment was sent to court. The official authorities do not name him; the identification is per media reports. The period of the actions is not specified. As of October 2026 the outcome of the trial has not been verified.
