Charges of receiving EUR 176,000 and a Mercedes-Benz-Brabus car for winning Poltava Regional State Administration road maintenance tenders (2017)

According to NABU and SAPO, in August 2017 the head of the Poltava Regional State Administration, aided by an adviser (and, according to a 2022 SAPO statement, the first deputy), received EUR 176 thousand (over UAH 5 million) from an entrepreneur for ensuring that the entrepreneur's companies won Regional State Administration procurements for maintenance of local roads; in December 2017, without having delivered on the promise, he received from the same entrepreneur a Mercedes-Benz-Brabus car (according to NABU in 2023–2024 — over UAH 6.5 million, according to a 2022 SAPO statement — over UAH 7.5 million) as a birthday present. Suspicion — 26 October 2022 (Article 368(4) of the Criminal Code, also Article 190(4) of the Criminal Code — about UAH 1.7 million of an unreturned loan); the investigation was completed on 12 October 2023, and the indictment was sent to court on 30 July 2024. Official statements do not name him; identification is by office in 2017 (Valerii Holovko headed the Poltava Regional State Administration from 26 December 2014 to 15 March 2019) and Wikipedia data on the suspicion and bail. As of October 2026 no verdict has been established (the outcome of the trial has not been verified).
