According to the case materials, in 2013 the Mayor of Mykolaiv, Lviv Oblast, and two city council employees received more than UAH 1 million from the director of a Kharkiv company as the first part of an undue advantage (more than UAH 2 million in total was to be paid) for preparing city council decisions, winning an auction and selling a land plot for a foundry at an understated price. On 26 October 2018, the Sykhivskyi District Court of Lviv sentenced Ihor Khimchak under Article 368(5) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine to 9 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property; the two city council employees to 8 years.
