According to Bihus.Info, in the summer of 2018 a two-room apartment in the Frantsuzkyi Kvartal residential complex in central Kyiv, with a market value of about USD 150 thousand (the article headline says “for 4 million” hryvnias), was registered to the 70-year-old mother-in-law of Andrii Khomiak, then deputy and later acting head of the Energy Customs Office. Journalists reported that the mother-in-law is a pensioner and former teacher who over the past 10 years had no income capable of explaining the purchase; the customs officer’s own salary according to his declarations is UAH 9–18 thousand per month.
