Charges of misappropriating over UAH 26.8 million during the reconstruction of Soborna Square in Mykolaiv

According to NABU and SAPO, in 2019, during a tender for the reconstruction of Soborna Square in Mykolaiv, the Deputy Mayor and the first deputy director of the city council's housing and utilities department, in collusion with directors of private companies, secured victory for a predetermined LLC; according to an expert examination, the works were performed at inflated prices, causing the community over UAH 26.8 million in losses. On 10 August 2021 the official was detained at the border with Hungary, and on 11 August he was served a notice of suspicion (Article 191(5) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He himself stated that he had been on vacation. Since 29 May 2023 the case has been heard by the HACC (case No. 991/4012/23). The name is not given in official statements; it is given by LB.ua and Transparency International Ukraine. There is no verdict.
