According to journalists of Schemes (Radio Liberty), in June 2023 Petro Kotin’s 70-year-old mother-in-law, under a sale and purchase agreement, bought a 288 sq m house near Kyiv for UAH 6.5 million and the land plot under it for UAH 350 thousand; in 2021 she also bought three plots in another village in Kyiv Oblast. According to the journalists, the mother-in-law’s official income (UAH 79 thousand in salary for 2000–2009) does not explain these purchases. Kotin confirmed in writing that he visits the house, named several sources of funds of his mother-in-law’s family and promised to reflect the use in his declaration; he did not do so in his declaration for 2023. No official proceedings have been registered; this is a journalistic investigation.
