According to a Bihus.Info investigation, in February 2025, when Ye. Koval held the position of adviser in the Department for Support of the Activities of the Head of the National Police, his 67-year-old mother became the owner of a 200 m² apartment and two parking spaces in the Signature residential complex in Kyiv; based on the minimum price per square metre in listings (from USD 6,500), the journalists estimated the apartment without renovation at no less than USD 1.3 million (the episode amount is this estimate, excluding the parking spaces). The mother also owns over 2.5 ha of land and houses in Pylypets near the Shypit waterfall, where the Shypit SPA & Resort hotel and restaurant complex opened in December 2024; according to the journalists, the land began to appear in the family during his service in the police, active construction took place when he was Deputy Head of the National Police, and the parents had no commensurate official income. Nearby is a hotel owned by the official's sister. The journalists were unable to obtain a comment from Ye. Koval. This is a journalistic investigation: no official criminal proceedings have been registered, no charges have been brought.
