According to Bihus.Info (a story on HQCJ interviews, December 2025) and the opinion of the Public Integrity Council (January 2024), from 2016 the judge used a 2012 BMW X5 registered to his mother-in-law a week before his dismissal from the prosecutor's office; later — a Volvo XC60 and a Skoda Kodiaq bought by female relatives whose official income, according to the PIC's opinion, was insufficient. The journalists put the market value of the BMW at the time of purchase at about USD 60 thousand; the PIC estimates it at USD 40–60 thousand; the judge himself stated at the interview that the car was bought in Germany for about USD 35 thousand. No official criminal proceedings have been registered; in April 2024 the HQCJ kept the judge in office, and in 2025 he did not pass the interview for the court of appeal. This is a journalistic investigation, not a fact established by a court.
