Misappropriation of funds of “Zaporizhzhiaoblenerho” through PrJSC “HC “Enerhomerezha” (losses of UAH 346 million)

According to NABU and SAPO, in 2014–2015 OJSC Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo (60% of shares owned by the state), under assignment of claim agreements, transferred to PrJSC HC Energomerezha the right to collect debts from large consumers (SE ZTMK, ZTMK LLC, PJSC Dniprospetsstal). The consumers paid Energomerezha over UAH 196.82 million, while the oblenergo received only UAH 1.7 million instead of UAH 346.22 million. The chairman of the board of Energomerezha was served a notice of suspicion in June 2016 (Article 191(5), Article 27(3) and Article 364(2) of the Criminal Code), in April 2019 he was extradited from Germany, and on 16.06.2020 the indictment against two defendants was sent to the HACC. At NABU’s request, a commercial court invalidated five agreements worth over UAH 346 million. The Bihus.Info video gives the amount as UAH 340 million; the record uses the amount from the NABU announcement. The outcome of the trial for this particular episode has not been verified.
