On 23 December 2022, MUE «Kyiv Metro» concluded a classified contract with «KB «Teploenergoavtomatyka» LLC for the first stage of major repairs of the tunnels of the Sviatoshynsko-Brovarska line (UAH 1.58 billion). According to the National Police, cable and wire products were purchased through an intermediary at prices inflated 3–4 times; expert examinations calculated losses of over UAH 60 million (UAH 61.1 million in media citing the police). In August 2024, the director of the firm received a notice of suspicion, and later its deputy chief engineer (the police do not name them). According to Bihus.Info, the police consider Kyrylo Kryvets a suspect and the organiser of the scheme; no official announcement with his name was found. A 2024 Bihus.Info investigation estimated the overpayment on just one batch of cable at UAH 15.7 million. There is no verdict.
