Real estate and business of the family of the former head of the Department of Economic Protection worth almost USD 6 million

According to a Bihus.Info investigation, the family of I. Kupranets (parents, daughter, the family's companies and investment fund) owns the «Aisberh» business centre in Kyiv, apartments in Kyiv club houses, houses with a total area of over 1,300 m², a hotel in Truskavets, houses in Pylypets, dozens of hectares of land, and is building a hotel in Bukovel; the journalists estimated the real estate alone at almost USD 6 million (the episode amount is this journalists' estimate, not the transaction prices). The journalists note that the family business developed in parallel with his service and after his dismissal in 2019, and some of the assets (the Holovynskyi quarry, seized grain of an agricultural holding in Odesa Oblast sold at auction at an understated price) previously featured in proceedings investigated by the Department of Economic Protection under his leadership; the sale of timber from the Chornobyl zone by his wife's company in 2017 is also mentioned. Kupranets himself declined to comment on his activities. This is a journalistic investigation: no official criminal proceedings regarding these circumstances have been registered, no charges have been brought.
