According to NABU and SAPO, in 2020 the acting director general of MUE "Odesa International Airport", contrary to the interests of the service, failed to take measures to ensure the municipal enterprise's operation as the operator of Odesa aerodrome and facilitated a private enterprise obtaining this status; from the end of 2020, fees for aircraft take-off, landing and parking services were received by a private entity. Losses to the community amount to UAH 15.6 million in lost revenue. On 05.09.2025 a notice of suspicion was served under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code (the SAPO announcement does not name the person; according to LB.ua, citing the Odesa City Council website, the acting director general is O. Makohoniuk). On 25.02.2026 a SAPO prosecutor sent the indictment to court. As of 03.10.2026, the progress of the trial has not been verified. Guilt has not been established by a court.
