According to the SBI investigation, as set out in a ruling of an investigating judge of the Holosiivskyi District Court of Kyiv of 5 June 2020 (the decision is anonymised; the full name is based on data from Slidstvo.Info and a response from the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office), a prosecutor of Kyiv Local Prosecutor's Office No. 6 demanded USD 100 thousand from a representative of JSC "Bank Alliance" for allegedly closing criminal proceedings against bank employees, although he had no authority to make such a decision. On 3–4 June 2020, he was detained while receiving the money. His actions were qualified as attempted fraud (Article 15(2), Article 190(4) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine); according to media reports, also official forgery and false reporting of a crime. The court suspended him from office; bail was UAH 630 thousand, later reduced to UAH 227 thousand; in January 2021, he returned to his position. As of 3 October 2026, the outcome of the proceedings has not been verified.
