“Midas” case: kickbacks from Energoatom contractors and money laundering

According to NABU and SAPO, a criminal organisation systematically received from counterparties of JSC «NNEGC «Energoatom» an undue advantage of 10–15% of the contract value and laundered the funds through a so-called back office (a «laundry»), through which about USD 100 million passed during the period of documentation (since summer 2024). On 10 November 2025 seven persons were served notices of suspicion; NABU does not name them; according to journalists' sources, investigators consider Tymur Mindich («Karlson») to be the head of the organisation. According to media citing the text of the suspicion, the charges are classified under Article 255(1), Article 209(3) (with Article 27(3), Article 28(4)) and Article 344(1) of the Criminal Code, and the total amount of laundered funds in the suspicion is UAH 311.2 million; the episode amount shows the figure from NABU's official announcement. On 1 December 2025 the HACC chose in absentia a pre-trial restraint of detention in custody; the suspect is on the wanted list. There is no verdict.
