A 1,067 m² house in Bortnychi and a Mercedes-Benz S500 used by the MP, not listed in the declaration

According to Bihus.Info journalists (November 2018), MP Mykhailo Poplavskyi, who listed a 76 m² apartment in Pozniaky in his declaration, actually lives in a 1,067.6 m² house with a sauna and a private lake on a plot of about half a hectare in Bortnychi near Kyiv. Journalists identified the location from photos on the MP’s Instagram; according to them, part of the land is leased to a vice-rector of KNUKiM, the remaining plots and the house are registered to her father, and local residents call Poplavskyi the actual owner. Journalists also recorded the MP using a Mercedes-Benz S500 Long 4Matic worth about USD 100 thousand (escorted by a Mercedes-Benz GLS 350); both cars are registered to the private higher education institution Kyiv University of Culture, whose beneficiaries were previously Poplavskyi and his son, but in 2016 he transferred his share to a KNUKiM employee. Journalists did not find either the house or the cars in the MP’s declarations. The episode amount is the value of the S500 car stated by journalists; the sources do not give the value of the house. In August 2019 media, citing a source at NABU, reported the opening of proceedings under Article 366-1 of the Criminal Code (false declaration); according to Bihus.Info, the NACP had been auditing the declarations since June 2019.
