According to the SBI, an accomplice who presented himself as the head of the property complex of the state municipal enterprise "Hotel 'Slovianskyi'" (Novhorod-Siverskyi) promised a participant in an online auction for the sale of the hotel victory for USD 160,000; according to investigators, the money was intended for the Deputy Head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, who was to ensure the absence of competitors. On 01.06.2021 both were detained and notified of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud); on 03.06.2021 the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv ordered detention in custody with the alternative of bail of UAH 4.4 million. On 30.11.2021 the SBI reported that the indictment had been sent to court. Official statements do not name him; his identity was established from an LB.ua publication and his NACP declaration filed before dismissal (he held the post until 02.06.2021). As of October 2026 the outcome of the trial has not been verified.
