According to NABU and SAPO, in December 2020 the Acting Director of SE "Chornomorsk Sea Trade Port", which held a majority of votes on the creditors' committee of a bankrupt private company, demanded USD 250,000 through an intermediary for approving a rehabilitation plan involving an investor. On 10.12.2020 he and the intermediary were detained, and on 11.12.2020 they were notified of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code. The intermediary Dmytro Travynov was convicted by the HACC on 24.04.2025 on the basis of an agreement; as regards the former head of the port, according to TI Ukraine and Slovo i Dilo, the trial is ongoing (in December 2024 the HACC refused to close the case). There is no verdict; the person is presumed innocent until a verdict enters into force. The patronymic is based on NACP declarations for 2019–2020 (Deputy Director for Development of SE "Chornomorsk Sea Trade Port").
