Cash gift of UAH 8.48 million from his mother, in which the NACP found signs of illicit enrichment

In his declaration for 2020, a member of the Kyiv City Council declared a cash gift of UAH 8,482,380 from his mother. On 15 August 2023, the NACP reported that following a check it had found signs of illicit enrichment of a Kyiv City Council member amounting to almost UAH 8.5 million: the donor's income over the past 22 years did not allow accumulating such an amount, and the inheritance documents did not confirm the existence of the funds; the materials were sent to NABU to decide on entering the information into the URPI. The NACP does not name the person; media reported that it concerns Volodymyr Slonchak. In April 2025, Bihus.Info journalists recalled this gift and reported that since 2020 three apartments with a market value of about UAH 25 million had been registered to his mother, and a house in Ukrainka to his wife. Whether criminal proceedings have been registered and whether a notice of suspicion has been served has not been established in open sources; there is no verdict.
