On 6 August 2026, NABU and SAPO served a notice of suspicion on the former Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Justice of illicit enrichment of over UAH 13.9 million and false declaration. According to the investigation, she owned two apartments in the «Faina Town» residential complex registered to a friend (almost UAH 11 million), and had in use an apartment in the «Lvivska Ploshcha» residential complex (registered to her mother), a parking space and non-residential premises (registered to her father) and a Mercedes-Benz GLC 220 d (registered to a subordinate), not reflected in her declaration. Earlier, in July 2025, Bihus.Info journalists reported that the official actually lives in an apartment near Lvivska Square registered to her mother (a bare three-room apartment there costs from UAH 9 million by the journalists' estimate) and does not declare its use; Stefanishyna then explained that her parents had bought the housing and that she would declare it for 2025. The HACC chose a pre-trial restraint measure — bail of UAH 6 million. Guilt has not been established; the suspect denies it.

“Lukash case”: payment by the Ministry of Justice for comparative studies of legislation worth UAH 2.5 million

According to the investigation as recounted by Bihus.Info, in 2013 the Ministry of Justice (Minister Olena Lukash) paid UAH 2.5 million for three comparative studies of Ukrainian and European legislation, whose price and quality raised questions; the procurement was organised by, among others, Olha Stefanishyna as head of the European integration unit. She was served a notice of suspicion under Article 191(5) of the Criminal Code (embezzlement on an especially large scale by a group of persons) in October 2019; the investigation was conducted by the Special Investigations Department of the Prosecutor General's Office (in a 2025 Bihus.Info video the case is called a NABU case). On 26.09.2023 the HACC held the first preparatory hearing in the case against 12 defendants. The UAH 2.5 million is the total payment for the studies, not an amount attributed to her personally. No verdict has been delivered; Stefanishyna considers the studies to have been completed.
