In May 2024 journalists of Schemes (Radio Liberty) reported that a Deputy Prosecutor General lives in a townhouse in the Konyk community in Kyiv, which his nephew bought by power of attorney for UAH 2.8 million with a market price of about USD 470 thousand. On 13.05.2024 NABU opened criminal proceedings under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code. On 03.07.2024 the NACP, based on the results of lifestyle monitoring, reported signs of illicit enrichment of the former Deputy Prosecutor General of almost UAH 29 million: according to the NACP, on his instructions related persons acquired Lexus and Porsche cars, houses with plots in Kyiv and Odesa, and an apartment in Antalya; the materials were sent to NABU. Verbytskyi stated in his declaration that he rents the house. There is no information about a notice of suspicion; the status “journalistic” is provisional — proceedings have been registered, but no suspicion has been announced. There is no verdict.
