Contracts of SE “Multimedia Platform of Foreign Broadcasting of Ukraine” with LLC “Mainstream Pictures” for the production of three films

According to investigations by Bihus.Info (October 2023) and «Nashi Hroshi», in June 2023 SE «Multimedia Platform of Foreign Broadcasting of Ukraine» (Ministry of Culture), following a closed competition, included in the list of winners three projects of «Mainstream Pictures» LLC (EDRPOU 38931859), headed by Artem Koliubaiev, Chair of the Council for State Support of Cinematography. After a pause due to the scandal around the series «SMT Inhulets», at the end of August 2023 the SE signed contracts with the company for the films «Mangrove Grove», «One Big Family» and «Art in the Shadow of War». Bihus.Info in its video of 09.10.2023 gives a total value of over UAH 21 million, «Nashi Hroshi» — UAH 21 million; in the video of 23.10.2023 and the Bihus.Info text version — over UAH 20 million (UAH 9 million, slightly over 7.5 million and 4.5 million for the projects). The SE does not disclose the composition of the competition commission; according to journalists, it included director Oleksii Kiriushchenko, who in September 2023 together with Koliubaiev became a co-owner (5% each) of a UAV manufacturing company. Koliubaiev declined to comment on the substance. This is a journalistic investigation: no official proceedings have been registered regarding this.
