Use of a 140 m² apartment in the “Frantsuzkyi Kvartal” residential complex registered to a brother who is a foreign citizen

According to a Bihus.Info investigation, since September 2018 V. Kryvolapov has declared the right to use a 140 m² apartment in the «French Quarter» residential complex (Pechersk, Kyiv); the declaration lists the owner as his brother, a foreign citizen. The journalists estimated the market value of such an apartment at over USD 530 thousand (about UAH 23 million); the episode amount is the journalists' estimate in hryvnias, not the transaction price. The declaration gives the value of the property at the date of acquisition as UAH 4,139,224. The journalists also reported that in 2020 the official's mother bought another apartment of over 100 m² in the same complex (according to the journalists' estimate — at least UAH 7 million). In his response, the official explained that in 2017 his brother decided to invest his own funds in a Kyiv new-build, and his mother bought the apartment with family income and savings. This is a journalistic investigation: no criminal proceedings have been registered and no charges have been brought.
